As a financial professional with a distinguished career spanning over many years, Kim has helped various families feel confident in their financial future. Entering the financial services industry in 1981, Kim began her banking career immediately after graduating Westminster College as a Management Trainee for Mellon Bank in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She then spent 10 years as a Vice President and Loan Team Leader with Wells Fargo Commercial Banking Group in San Diego. While working for Wells Fargo she completed her MBA at the University of San Diego.
Kim worked with many self-made business owners during this time of her career, helping them transition their businesses and attract and retain key employees. She saw firsthand how important this work was to the people she was helping, and she realized her purpose in life to make an even bigger impact on others' lives by becoming a financial advisor.
In 2002, Kim was hired by PNC Advisors as Vice President and Client Advisor in Ligonier, Pennsylvania. From there, National City Private Client Group hired Kim in 2006 to open a new office in Ligonier, Pennsylvania. She became an independent financial advisor in 2009, and has since built Legacy Wealth Solutions, Inc. into a successful practice. Kim is also an owner of Lion Street, Inc., which is an owner/producer group of like-minded top producers.
Kim is a Certified Wealth Strategist (CWS)®, Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP)® and a graduate of the ABA National Trust School. She currently holds her life insurance and Series 66 licenses in Pennsylvania and Florida.
A comprehensive and compassionate approach to client relationships has always set Kim apart. She spends as much time as needed to truly understand her clients and their families and help them from a wealth preservation, income and legacy standpoint. This often requires working collaboratively with clients' other advisors and, in some cases, introducing additional professionals with specialized skill sets and qualifications.
Kim's areas of knowledge and experience include wealth and asset preservation, retirement income and charitable gifts. Her network of experts across the country helps generate ideas and strategies for each client situation. Many clients are in transition, either from divorce, the death of a spouse, the sale of a business or pending retirement, all of which cause financial stress and confusion. Kim helps clients map a path to the next phase of their financial life with confidence. Kim has helped numerous clients make significant charitable gifts, while in many cases putting the heirs in a better position. She also has an active practice with women in transition and women owned businesses. Kim's dedicated to her clients and her practice has been recognized by national and local financial organizations. She is a Tribute to Women in Industry Award Recipient and also earned the Women in Insurance and Financial Services (WIFS) Sapphire Award. Kim has been in the media for her industry experience and expertise, including Fox news, Fortune magazine, the Ligonier Echo and Tribune Review.
Giving back to the community is very important to Kim. She currently serves as a board member for the Community Foundation of Westmoreland County and the Ligonier Valley YMCA, and previously as a Trustee for Fort Ligonier and. Other memberships include the Circle of Hope Hillman Cancer Center, United Way Women's Leadership Council, Association for Advanced Life (AALU), Estate Planning Council, Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art Auxiliary, Business and Professional Women, Ladies Hospital Aid Society, Covenant Presbyterian Church and Latrobe Country Club.
Married in 1982, Kim resides with her husband, Don, in Ligonier, where she was born and raised. The couple has two grown daughters, Kalyn Letizia, who is married to Alex and the mother to Lilly, and Taryn Kramer, a Penn State college junior currently studying abroad in Hamilton, New Zealand. Outside of the office, Kim enjoys traveling with friends and family, taking fitness classes and staying active by exploring new places.
